I’ve currently working on my own WordPress theme for this blog and I’ve been using Gimp for some minor image editing. Most of the Gimp tutorials I’ve found are either out of date or aren’t relevant anymore. I’ve come across a few gems that may help you out, here they are:
- Rounded Navigation Bar - This tutorial will show you how to create a menu navigation bar with rounded corners. Very simple to do and adds a nice, polished look to your site.
- How To Create A Website Using Gimp - Most find it easier to design their site visually before they begin to code. If you’re one of those people this tutorial will show you how to design your layout with Gimp.
- Creating a Web Logo - Every website needs a logo and this tutorial does a great job of showing how easy it is to make some slick logos with Gimp.
- Create Web 2.0 Buttons - A nice tutorial on creating slick, Web 2.0 style buttons for your site.
- Web Page Layout Using Gimp - Another tutorial on using Gimp to design your web page layout. This tutorial is in 2 parts. The first goes over designing a web layout in Gimp and the second will show you how to markup the design in XHTML and styling with CSS. A must read!
